Don’t you just love finding out what purposes your foods serve?! I’ve loved getting to know my fruits, veggies and nuts. I’ve become a nut myself; researching what foods help with energy, stamina, digestion, detoxing, immunity. The list goes on and on!
The NutriBullet recipes found in the book have been so helpful. They provided a splendid amount of information to get my gears in motion. Now, I find myself tweaking recipes and adding a little of this and a little of that to keep improving and enhancing the benefits of what I’m putting into my body. I’m a mad scientist in the kitchen! I formulate fruit and veggie concoctions to maximize my energy. I whip up potions to get my detox on and balance out my hormones.
Now that I know a couple of food functions, I’ve started adding extra kicks of awesome to the recipes found in the book. My newest creation is adding edamame to the hummus recipe. Edamame is packed with protein, which my trainer boyfriend obsesses about me eating. I added 1/3 cup of the seeds to the original hummus recipe and voila! Instant protein hummus goodness! I call it hum-mam-e.
