Fighting Allergies with Food!

The change from summer to fall usually marks the beginning of allergy season, but allergies can strike really at any time. Turmeric is a spice commonly used in Indian cuisine and research has shown that ingesting it can have some of the same effects as anti-inflammatory drugs, those commonly used to treat allergies. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is a powerful antioxidant that, when taken in huge amounts, can have the same effects as allergy medication.
