While I was pregnant with my second baby boy, I had a regular diet of daily cookies, donuts and, more often than not, fast food. Needless to say, the 50 pounds I gained were not entirely baby weight (although he was 9 pounds). I thought that I would lose the weight on my own, but it was coming off very slowly, if at all.
My mother bought me the NutriBullet and said, "Just try it." I think that was my wake up call; even my mother thought I had gained too much weight! I brought it home, opened up the booklet and read it cover to cover. The 6-week plan fit right into my deadline for a family reunion we had coming up, so I thought, hey, let's try it. Week One was tough, but once I stepped on that scale and lost 4.6 pounds in the first week, I was hooked! Over the next six weeks, my tolerance for greens at every meal went up, and I even missed not having that nutritious burst of energy from eating healthy foods. I walked three times a week with my two boys in the stroller and watched my food intake (with a cheat here and there). In the end, I went from maternity pants to a size 12 and lost 17 pounds.
I've lost a total of 20 pounds to date from June 28th, and I still have 11 to 15 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. I have a NutriBlast smoothie every morning and still make the delicious recipes provided in the book, such as the Chick Pea Salad, White Bean and Veggie Soup, and Sweet Potato Cakes. I have changed my eating habits entirely and look forward to eating foods filled with energy-providing boosts and vitamins.
On a side note, my 4-month-old is now 18.8 pounds, and when I carry him around, I'm reminded of the weight I carried and know that I plan on using the NutriBullet for a long time to come!
Here is a side-by-side picture of me on May 25 (one month before I started the NutriBullet, but only 3 pounds heavier) and August 15th, 20 pounds lighter.
