I have been overweight all my 26 years of life. I decided to do something about it and began running in 2010. Some of the weight came off, and then I plateaued. Somehow, I was still tired all the time; working 12-hour shifts as a nurse left me drained. I had insomnia, anxiety, bad acne, joint pain, horrible migraines, and my thyroid hormone level was all over the place.
In January 2013, I decided to focus on my nutrition. I began eating healthier, drinking more water, and, after seeing the amazing runner Nadia Ruiz use one, I decided to give the NutriBullet a try. At first, my body began detoxing, but as the days progressed I started noticing a difference. Since then, I have lost 25 lbs, and now, I can sleep better, my thyroid level is normal, my skin is clearing up, my headaches are gone, and I feel more energized.
Before getting the NutriBullet, I would have to drink five cups of coffee a day to survive a 12-hour shift. Now, I will drink one cup, sometimes none. I have more energy while working in the hospital and also while working out. To me, that's amazing! One of the best things about the NutriBullet is that having healthy blended smoothies in the morning accustoms you to eating healthier the entire day. It gets you used to making healthier food and activity choices, something that I am very grateful for!
I find myself in the grocery store buying organic fruits and veggies, looking for acai and goji berries, and researching the healthiest foods out there. Last year, I completed a marathon in 7.5 hours. This year it took me 6.5 hours, and I can definitely attribute this to healthy eating and the NutriBullet. I have cut down ten minutes in my half-marathon time. I can run better and recover faster with the NutriBullet.
