Post-Cancer Life with My NutriBullet

Post-Cancer Life with My NutriBullet

After my final chemotherapy treatment, I made myself a promise to never look back and to do everything I could to get as far away from the “C” word as possible. The situation with cancer is that for survivors, it really doesn’t end with treatment. There will always be a concern of reoccurrence and fear of additional future treatment. A survivor must be closely monitored for the rest of their life. It sounds unfortunate, but the reality is that most survivors have a heightened appreciation for life and explore ways to help themselves gain back control over their lives and get to a healthy state, both physically and emotionally.

Here’s where the NutriBullet proved to be a valuable asset to me. I was looking forward to going back to a “normal” existence after cancer treatment. What caught me off guard was PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I thought that was something only associated with the amazingly courageous people who fight for our country. I had no idea why I was having panic attacks and depression when I was so excited and happy to have made it through cancer! So, not only did I need to focus on my physical wellbeing, I needed to work on dealing with the emotional effects of having gone through cancer, as well.

While I wish that the NutriBullet had been available during my treatment, it did show up right when I needed it the most. Certainly, I could go through a long list of how it helped me feel and look better physically, but truly the first and greatest benefit I got out of using my NutriBullet right after treatment was the improvement in my emotional state.

Using the NutriBullet provided me with a sense of control over my health and my destiny; something many cancer patients struggle with after treatment. For those people who understand how food can help us fight and avoid disease, I know you understand this concept.

The bottom line: The NutriBullet helped me overcome my post-cancer emotional obstacles and adjust my poor eating habits so that I could get the most nutrition out of my food. I do not know what my future holds, but what I do know now is that I'm doing everything in my power to be as healthy as possible. The NutriBullet has become an important and permanent nutritional resource in my life.
