The fall is upon us! Wow, there is such a stark transition from summer to fall. In this family, we quickly get catapulted from lazy, hazy days on the beach to racing for the bus days, driving to activities and trying to make dinner and do homework at the same time. I already feel like my head is going to explode!
On top of all that “normal” family stuff, I still have to prepare for World Championships. I put my older children on the bus at 8:20 a.m. then spend a few hours with my little four-year-old man. He hangs out until 11:45 a.m. when his bus arrives. At that time, I rush to answer emails and finish plans and programs for my clients. Then, it’s training time! I dash out the door to get my training in. Today, it was a trip to the lake for a one-hour swim, followed by a 2-hour bike ride. The last 20 minutes of my ride was an unexpected sprint (it was supposed to be an easy ride today!) because I realized I was late for the afternoon bus! I made it up the hill to the bus stop at the same time the bus did. Phew! Yes, my bus driver thinks I’m nuts! No time to shower, it’s now time to grab some after school snacks and drive 30 minutes to hockey practice.
In order to keep up my energy and stamina, as well as to recover from my training en route to hockey or swim team or gymnastics, I take my NutriBlasts on the road! It may not be the relaxed pace of summertime, but it’s just as important for me to be ready for my long flight across the pond and for when I stand on the start line at ITU World Championships in London!
