Goodbye Fatty Liver and Hello Weight Loss

Goodbye Fatty Liver and Hello Weight Loss

I bought my NutriBullet on August 10, 2012.

I weighed 193 pounds with high cholesterol and a fatty liver. I was also suffering from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).

I was up late one night, unable to sleep because of stomach pain, when I saw the NutriBullet infomercial. I usually ignore things that have to do with weight loss or health because they are usually trying to push some powder, pill, or fad diet. But this was different. It made a lot more sense than anything else; we already know that eating vegetables and fruits is healthy for us, but we really don’t want to take the time to purchase or prepare them when we can much more easily drive up to a fast food chain and grab a double cheeseburger and fries.

After watching the infomercials, I figured I would do more research before making my purchase. I found a lot of great blenders, but they cost between $300 and $500. I could have waited, but I probably would have lost interest in getting healthy.

The next day, I searched for stores that had them in stock, and I spent around $100. Once I got home, I threw in some spinach, bananas, strawberries, and almond milk and made a great smoothie. I kept doing this for several days every morning and I felt great. So great, in fact, that I decided to research other foods that I could blend up for health.

As days went by, I started to lose weight from just the smoothies. With the knowledge I learned, I started making substitutions in what I ate, such as a simple swap of quinoa for rice and even quinoa pasta for regular pasta. I noticed that I was able to stop using my Nexium for reflux and that I no longer had headaches or stomachaches. After a month, I had lost 20 pounds, felt great, and noticed my clothes fit better than ever. I kept wanting to improve myself!

During this change in my life, family members and coworkers started seeing the changes in my skin, body, and attitude, and it was infectious. People all around me began to make small changes and are even buying a NutriBullet for themselves.

After my seventh week, I decided it was time to go back to my doctor and have a check-up and blood work done. He was amazed at my weight loss and asked me about my dietary habits and even asked my advice and opinions on things. They took my blood and found that I had lowered my cholesterol to 161 and my enzyme counts had lowered as well, reflecting the shape of my fatty liver. I intend to return two months from now with completely healthy liver functions.

Through this whole process, I have focused on being healthy for myself and my family. I want to be a great role model for my son who is just 5 months old. I want him to know that food and health matter. If it weren’t for the NutriBullet, I would not have made all the efforts I have. So, thank you so much for this product! It has touched my life in more ways than I can explain!

Thank you so much for this valuable information. It is people like you that really make a difference in the lives of people with fatty liver. I suffered for 12 years from fatty liver and nothing I tried worked. Drugs, nutrition, all types of name it--the suffering never really went away. Fortunately, I found out about a natural way that finally got rid of my fatty liver for good.

Reading your story really inspires me!! Great job!!!
I'll add my congrats and comments. I don't get caught up on recipes and often gross my wife out when she samples my shakes. I'm going for nutrients. Starting with kale I add other stuff from the yard and garden. Dandelion greens, violet, daisy leaves, purslane, sorrel, lambs quarters, you get the idea. After awhile I crave the bitter things. If my drink tastes too grassy I might squirt some lime juice in or dilute it and sip it over time.
I think those of you that are asking for recipes are slightly missing the point. If you are substituting a cheeseburger and chips with a meal packed full of nutrients, fiber, fruit and vegetables - you're going to lose weight no matter what you put in the bullet. There are countless recipes tagged for various purposes to choose from, so what you need to do is look at YOUR OWN goals and then decide what ingredients you are going to use to achieve them. You also have to look at what you ENJOY as there's no point in packing your bullet full of things you cannot stand and then wondering why after 2 days of forcing it down, your willpower had waned as you aren't enjoying the drink. So make a list of what you enjoy, research on the recipes tag list how each ingredient relates to your goal and then pop your own selection in and give it a whirl. I think what you have forgotten is that there is no miracle weight loss cure. No one can give you a "recipe" that's going to make you lose weight. The recipe is for you to make healthy choices, eat a variety of foods that are good for your body, eliminate toxic and unhealthy options from your diet and eat in moderation according to your own personal preferences. Hope this helps some of you.
I hope you are staying on the nutri bullet and keeping healthy because that change is really dramatic and you look fabulous! good luck

i enjoy reading the articles and words on encouragement but what I find missing is the recipe/plan your testimonials are about. While there are lots on your site it would be nice to know what's working for those with great results. would be great if that was a requirement of posting testimonials that you share 1 or 2 of your tried and proven result recipes.

Wow! You look like a different person. Good job, actually great job, and keep it up eh
Hello all! I wanted to give you some additional info on fatty liver and foods that can help. Including foods with betaine found in beets, broccoli, grains, and spinach may help protect against harmful fatty deposits in the liver. Selenium (Brazil nuts), vitamin E (sunflower seeds/almonds/leafy greens), and probiotics (kombucha) have also been linked to improvements in liver health. These are some great ingredients to include for liver health. Try these in a blast and post your recipes!

My daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with a fatty liver and triglycerides at 700. She likes very few vegetables so looking for receives for her. She just bought a nutribullet. She likes broccoli and green beans.
How is your liver doing now? We're you able to get the levels back to normal?
