Grown mainly in Southern and Southeast Asia, jackfruit is a tropical fruit that can grow to be 70 pounds or more! It's packed with vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that will help keep you healthy - and it's tropical flavor will take you to Jamaica or Thailand, to a sandy beach and fantastical sunsets. Yum!

Selection Process

Most easily found in Asian or Hispanic markets, pick a jackfruit that gives in to gentle pressure. It should smell sweet and can last up to 7 days in the refrigerator. It's a sappy fruit and could get messy! Prepare by cutting in quarters and removing the core. It's fibrous, yellow pods are the parts you should eat, though many cultures also eat the seeds cooked or boiled.
