Persian Cucumbers

This little guy is very similar to the regular cucumbers you're probably used to eating, but is a tiny bit sweeter and much smaller! Persian cucumbers - believed to have originated in India and not Persia - measure about 4 to 6 inches in length with smooth skin and a succulent flavor. Nutritionally, they're about the same, very high in dietary fiber and vitamins A and C. If you haven't already, try them in your smoothies! They're a perfect size and add an unexpectedly refreshing flavor.

Selection Process

Persian cucumbers are available year-round in most grocery stores. Look for cucumbers that are bright green in color and that contain no bruises or soft spots.
