Turnips

Turnips are a highly nutritious starchy root vegetable with only about a third of the calories found in potatoes. A member of the cabbage family, turnips also contain a category of phytonutrients called indoles that may reduce the risk of developing lung and colorectal cancers. They're known as a good source of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and dietary fiber. The tops of turnips (turnip greens) are also nutritious and perfect for Blasting!

Selection Process

Select smaller turnips that are heavy for their size and which contain unblemished skin. Look for turnips that still contain their large, green tops.
