Wheat Germ

Just what is wheat germ? A wheat kernel is comprised of three parts: the bran, the germ, and the endosperm. The fibrous outter layer is the bran and is actually the main source of the essential fats and vitamins found in wheat. All this fiber translates to better blood sugar balance, cholesterol control and detoxification. Wheat germ also contains lots of B vitamins, which are essential for cardiovascular and brain health.

Selection Process

Be sure to buy all natural, raw, organic wheat germ, available at most major grocers and health food stores. Wheat germ goes rancid quickly, so be sure to buy only the amount that you will use; store in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator.
