Whey Protein

Health Benefits
Whey protein powder is formed as a by-product of cheese-making and provides a number of essential amino acids. Though often associated with body and muscle-building, whey protein may also aid in weight loss by enabling your body to burn more calories after a high-protein meal or snack. It has also been shown to help build muscle by promoting protein synthesis after resistance training.
Selection Process
Choose a high quality organic, grass-fed, whey protein powder without unhealthy sweeteners, artificial flavors, or chemicals.
There are three types of whey protein powders to choose from depending on your needs: whey protein concentrate is somewhat lower in protein and contains most of the original nutritional packaging of milk (fat, cholesterol, lactose, and bioactive compounds); whey protein isolate is 90%+ protein by weight (higher than concentrate), but lower in bioactive compounds; whey protein hydrolysates are somewhat "predigested," which make them easier to metabolize and are less allergenic than the others forms of whey.
