Where's the grip?!

I just purchased a Nutribullet, after having used a MagicBullet for about 5 years.
Was hard to relinquish my grouchy old dying MB, but I needed something slightly more powerful, and was also told that the Nutribullet actually had more GRIP to its lids and cups ... the absence of which being my only real gripe with the MB.
But if anything, there is even LESS grip on the NB; the side of cups and blade are still slippery and smooth...not so much as a tread in sight... which is bananas.
For the life of me I don't understand why manufacturers of kitchen appliances don't offer grippier products, like rubberized/treaded surfaces for things that you will need to open and close!
So, I am wondering if any of the Nutribullet blenders have grippier surfaces to them, or is this sort of standard issue?
Thank you
