Avocado In Recipes -- Fresh vs. Oil

I was wondering if one could use either fresh avocado or avocado oil in the recipes... Is there a difference? Benefits using one over the other?

Avocados don't tend to last that long so was thinking that using the oil would be a cost effective way to get the same results.

These are two separate things. When a recipe calls for avocado, use the fruit, not the oil. Avocado oil is the extracted oil from avocado and is a concentrated fat source. While it is healthy fat, it is void of the other nutrients that an avocado provides.
