Today is the day! As you begin your 5-Day Cleanse, we invite all of you on the forum to share your experiences.

Day one may seem daunting, but with support from others on the same journey, it’s easier to make it through. Have any questions or concerns? Voice them here and get feedback from fellow cleansers.

It’s totally normal and understandable to be a little intimidated by the cleanse; changing longstanding habits always poses a bit of a challenge. Are there any particular concerns you have? Are you worried you will be hungry? Moody? Are you worried you’ll miss your morning coffee or afternoon chocolate nibble?

Naming exactly what intimidates us can heighten our awareness, and sharing with others gives us a sense of community and solidarity!

Share with us below and remember...we'll choose one person who contributes each day as the lucky winner of our new Dessert Bullet :)

So far, so good! Actually enjoyed the lemon ginger tea this morning and the shake was a little thick, so took me a while to finish it, which I guess was good, then I did not get hungry! Cant wait to see the results!
Starting Day #1. Haven't missed my morning coffee yet. Ginger/Lemon tea hit the spot. Would like to know what the serving size of the soup, etc is for the evening meal?

Thought I'd miss my morning coffee but the ginger tea was better than I expected!
We thought the same thing - that the shake was a little thicker than we're used to. But it was good and the tea was surprisingly tasty!
Day 1 going well, loving the blasts so far & not feeling hungry at all. Looking forward to seeing the results as the days go on
LOL...I thought the same thing...a little thick. My husband is drinking just the morning smoothies with me & he had a hard time getting it down.

The soup and clean meal recipes vary and I intentionally didn't set serving sizes so that you all could eat enough to where you didn't feel hungry anymore. I'd say about 2 cups of soup per serving would be filling! Pay attention to your hunger/fullness scale and eat til you are about 80% full :)
Just drank my second Blast, and I am feeling great!!! How about you?
Quick question: can we have an additional one or two cups of the hot water/lemon/ginger during the day if we'd like?
feel amazing!
THANKS
Just another manic Monday.
Can frozen spinach be a substitute for spinach, if so, how much of that should i use?
SO FAR SO IT'S GOING GOOD! I DIDN'T LIKE THE 11 O CLOCK BLAST. NOT SURE I DID IT RIGHT WERE WE SUPOST TO PEEL THE ORANGE OR NOT? IT DIDN'T SAY TO!
Apparently I do miss my morning coffee, I have a caffeine headache.

Absolutely!!
LuvinCville wrote: Can frozen spinach be a substitute for spinach, if so, how much of that should i use?
Yes you may! You can keep it at a cup or slightly less since it's more compact than fresh.
Does anyone know what the portion size is of the evening meal?

Ooops, yes, peel it (the peel is not bad to eat, just a bit bitter!) Here's a handy prep chart for future Blasting... http://nutribulletblog.com/faq/peelingde-seeding/
This is such a perfect way to kick off the new year - the first two smoothies were great! I wasn't a fan of the cider/lemon tea, but the ginger/lemon combo sounds good.... It's so much fun to explore and discover!

This is a popular Q today! Sorry we didn't specify in the printout... Here's what was posted below... The soup and clean meal recipes vary and I intentionally didn't set serving sizes so that you all could eat enough to where you didn't feel hungry anymore. I'd say about 1.5-2 cups of soup or clean meal per serving would be filling! Pay attention to your hunger/fullness scale and eat til you are about 80% full :)
I started the cleanse yesterday due to work and its great. Don't feel hungry at all. Thanks Krista for the recipes and keep us going...
Looking forward to this cleanse (headache aside). Coming off a recovery period for some surgery and those holiday pounds creeped on, especially since I was unable to exercise during my recovery! Dr says I'm good to go now, so this is great timing - a cleanse and then right back to my exercise routine and now my new blasting routine (it was a Christmas gift). Can't wait to see the results!!
I had the applecider/ lemon tea this morning... I couldn't gag it all down:( tomorrow hopefully the ginger will be less traumatic for me. How much ginger do I use? And can it be powdered or do I need fresh?
I had the same issue with the apple cider vinegar. Ginger definitely better...
Day 1 for me...Enjoyed my morning juice consisting of: spinach, blueberries, kiwi, pear & greek strawberry yogurt...missed AM snack, lunch was grilled chicken breast w/Spinach mixed greens & tsp balsamic/oil dressing...trying to handle a chocolate protein bar w/lots of water...whew...a bit stout on this snack...
I enjoyed my apple cider vignear and lemon drink!!! I am drinking very slowly, I just finished Revitalizing Blast just now and on the plans it said that I should have drank it at 11am. I slept until 11am (getting sick and everything's closed today due to sever windchill). Is it ok if I skip the third blast (Liver cleanse) and eat spinach with raspberry walnut vignear dressing? Also Am I supposed to drink the blast fast? I am still feeling tired and it's hard for me to not eat anything.. I love to chew food. I have a bowl of candies on the top of the fridge, I just stare at it for a min or two and forced myself to walk away from it. haha
I'd like to try ginger lemon drink..do I chop off the ginger root in pieces or use ginger powder?
I didn't like the 11am blast either... I think I used too much ginger. But my 3p blast tastes pretty darn good.
Mid afternoon and I'm still hanging in there! I personally don't enjoy apple cider vinegar at all, but I know how good it is for you so I've decided to have my morning drink with the acv instead of ginger. First blast was ok and kept me full until lunch time! Second blast was better. I'm coming up on the three hour mark since the second one and now I'm feeling quite hungry. Looking forward to blast #3! Planning to have the butternut squash soup for supper, but my main concern is this evening. I'm a big time evening snacker and it's usually unhealthy snacks. So I'm worried I will get hungry or have cravings later. But I'm committed and am sticking to this! :)
The first two blasts today were very tasty. I like anything with ginger, and the ginger/lemon morning hot drink was great, too. Looking forward to blast #3.
It's so great to have this forum to share this experience -- I agree with many of you, the apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning wasn't very pleasant! I think I will be sticking with ginger and lemon for the rest of the week. My sister and I are doing this cleanse together -- we are getting together this afternoon to make big batches of the soups and clean meals. I have a question, are you all finding that you need the tall glass for all of the blasts? I tried to make two at the same time, one in the short cup and one in the tall cup so I could take them with me on the go, but I had to shove everything in the small cup to blend it. I'm thinking I might need to get another tall cup if I want to pre-make more than one blast. Happy cleansing!
Added some extra water to my morning smoothie to make it less thick..hope that it ok?

has anyone figured out the calorie content for each blast?
Doing great so far!! Love my nutriblasts!!
Tomorrow is my fiancé's birthday, he wants to go to buffalo wild wings. If I don't eat with him, he would get upset. He knew Im on detox diet with nutriBlast but still wanted me to drink beer and eat wings with him for his bday. What should I do? Help me please? We are leaving at noon to go out.. please help me out before I leave.
Can the blasts and soups all be make ahead of time and placed in the freezer?
Didn't get to the store till today so starting tomorrow, but I usually have one or two nutriblasts per day anyway, so i'll just have three today of what I normally have and will start tomorrow. If I can't eat tomato or celery, can I replace that Tomato toddie with another 11 am blast?
msheppick wrote: I had the applecider/ lemon tea this morning... I couldn't gag it all down:( tomorrow hopefully the ginger will be less traumatic for me. How much ginger do I use? And can it be powdered or do I need fresh?
Fresh is best...just use about a one inch cube.
FitisFun wrote: Can the blasts and soups all be make ahead of time and placed in the freezer?
Yes you can! However, note that some of the Blasts textures may change after being frozen. Nutrients are preserved when frozen, but some fruits/veggies change taste/texture. Maybe try loading the cups beforehand, then blast when ready to eat if that work in your schedule? Soups freeze no problem.
Day 1 ... so far so good! Unfortunately I'm starting the week off with a cold. The good part however is I'm able to be at home from work and have fresh Blasts! Liking them so far. Had a little problem with the one this morning as I've never been a milk fan, "real" or otherwise. Pushed through though! Made the butternut squash soup for my clean meal and it's delicious! Looking forward to the next 4 days! Good luck everyone!

You have a few options! 1) Go and choose healthy things from the menu at BWW. You're fiance should be supportive of your choice to not drink or eat unhealthy. 2) Go and enjoy his birthday celebration and start over the next day on your Cleanse. 3)Postpone his b-day BWW celebration until this weekend and cook him a nice healthy meal instead. Good luck and let us know what you decide :)

The recipes are for the tall cup! I'd suggest making one, transferring it to another sealed cup/mug (you can get some nice glass ones at Whole Foods) and then making the next one. Or you can get more tall cups, but not sure they'll be there in time :)

Drink your Blast slowly to enjoy it and to help keep you feeling full for longer - then you have less time between Blasts if you tend to get hungry! If you wake up later, just adjust the timing of the Blasts accordingly. Good for you for walking away from the candy jar! And if you'd like to chew some food, a healthy salad would be a fine substitute - just be sure to stick to the "rules" of no processed ingredients and no animal proteins including dairy.
I made the tomato soup for my supper tonight! I am a meat and potato kinda person. But I have to say I made it through today with out wanting any or missing it! yeah me I think I might make it throw
I started the cleanse on yesterday just because I like to start new stuff at the beginning of the week :-) Anyway, I love, love, love my Nutribullet so much so that I bought one for my son for Christmas. He immediately fell in love with this dynamite of a machine also! As I continue making my transition to a vegan this cleanse is very timely for me as I'm looking forward to losing some weight and really feeling better about my health. Day 1 was a bit challenging as I was craving carbs, i.e., a cookie or similar, like crazy. BUT I didn't give in, stayed on target with my personal commitment to myself and the weight loss goal I have. Day 1 smoothies were a bit tastier than Day 2. The Tomato Toddie was a challenge for me but I drank the whole thing! Today, I'm feeling focused and relaxed...ahhh. To our health!
I am excited to announce that since I have been blasting (Friday 1/3/14) my blood pressure has gone signinfcantly down from 180/90 to 122/70 as of today. I am trying to find the post with the 8 foods that lower blood pressure and I can't find it. I only remember kale, beet, celery.....I have not taken my meds since Christmas. This is amazing the ease with which I can intake the vital nutrients....
I use whole ginger root and just slice off the chunk I need. I think this is way more potent than using the powder. And so easy to do!!
One good thing is that this cleanse is FULL of ingredients that boost your immune system so I bet your cold won't last that long!!
I don't know but it can't possibly be very high....
I agree'. I think it's gonna be a loooooong evening!!
Do the recipes for the soups call for cooling it off simply because you shouldn't put hot liquids in the Nutribullet? I'd really like some hot soup. Since the soup is cooked I can't imagine that the nutribulletvis extracting any more nutrients at this point is it? Can I just purée the soup some other way and eat it hot? I'd hate to have to cool it down and the just turn around and heat it up in the microwave!
Day one almost complete! Brought soup to work with me and will be having my 3rd blast for dinner. So far so good.
i know this question is embarrassing... but is it normal to burp a lot after drinking nutriblast/ eating healthy meals? I ate two bowls of spinach with lemon juice,a touch of raspberry vigiteere and a touch of EVOO... is that ok?
So far, the blasts are delicious. Thank you for coming up with such yummy recipes. I am excited to see what tomorrow brings. Not hungry. Feel great.
Through Day 1 and pretty proud of myself! Planning ahead definitely helps. Had the Kale-Quinoa/Sweet Potato clean meal this evening and felt like I must have been cheating. Doubled the recipe as my family members who are not doing the NutriBlast (yet) are on board to start eating healthier...was happy to share, very filling. 11:00 am Blast was my least favorite but was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the other blasts. Thought I would be looking to snack this evening but didn't need to....feeling good.

Excited to hear your family is on board with healthier eating too! Way to go :) I love that recipe. And no, you didn't "cheat" - healthy eating can be delish...just be sure not to overdo it on the portions :)

That's perfectly fine! Just be sure that the raspberry vinaigrette doesn't have any added sugars or preservatives.... Try drinking your Blast a bit slower to reduce any ingested air that may cause your burping. More fiber usually causes more gas which can come out at either end :)

You are correct, it is just b/c hot liquids should not be placed in the NutriBullet. If you are planning to eat right away and want to keep it hot, another mixing alternative is fine. If making a large batch in advance, it will need to be cooled before being stored in the fridge so using the NutriBullet would be ideal in that case - getting it extra pureed! What can I say, I've got a biased opinion :)

Had the second Blast today and was wondering if that one (Tomato Todie) can be heated and had as a soup. Will this decrease the nutrients? Just seems like it would have tasted better heated and in a bowl. Thoughts ??
Thank you so much! How exciting! :)
crgarden wrote: Had the second Blast today and was wondering if that one (Tomato Todie) can be heated and had as a soup. Will this decrease the nutrients? Just seems like it would have tasted better heated and in a bowl. Thoughts ??
That is a good idea! Some nutrients are lost during heating, however, it has been shown that tomato's lycopene actually increases when cooked so yes, go for it and let us know how it is as a soup :)

We try not to focus on calories, rather eating healthy, clean, whole foods. Sometimes getting wrapped up in the number of calories can deter the consumption of other healthy foods throughout the day. Moving forward we will begin to put caloric values and nutrition content on our recipes and cleanses, so stay tuned. For now you can enter data in myfitnesspal.com or calorieking.com to assess nutrient content.
