Hey Blasters! How did day 1 go? Are you feeling tired? Cranky? Energized? Giddy? Let us know and talk to your fellow cleansers here on the forum!

Days two and three are generally reported to be the most difficult days of any cleanse. Here are some tips to keep you pushing on:

Drink water

Although you are constantly drinking fluids during this cleanse, it is very important to remember to drink water. Many of the 5-day Cleanse NutriBlasts have diuretic properties—which eliminate water from the body along with toxins from your organs. To keep your body hydrated, we recommend drinking 16 oz (2 cups) of water with each of your NutriBlasts.

Exercise (with) Caution

The cleansing process uses a large amount of energy and your body will be running on less fuel than it is accustomed to, so we recommend limiting intense exercise this week. Save the spinning, running, CrossFit, and P90X workouts for another time, and opt instead for light activity like walking, leisurely bike rides, gentle yoga, and possibly Pilates. Be sure to stop any activity if you begin to feel fatigued or lightheaded.

Rest Up

As mentioned previously, you might be a bit fatigued at this point of the cleanse. Don’t fight it! To truly take care of your body, it is important to respect your limitations. Tune into to your body. Go to bed if you’re tired. Sneak in a catnap on your lunch break if necessary. In a day or two, you’ll feel so energized that a little temporary sleepiness will be well worth it!

Let us also know what you hope to achieve by Day 5!  What are your short-term and long-term health goals? How do you think this cleanse will help you meet those goals?

Happy Blasting!

Ive been feeling really tired and somewhat nauseous. I was planning to go to 9Round (kickboxing gym) today since I did not go for 3 months.. all these money are flying out of my wallet for nothing. Can I still go to the gym? I can tell the trainers that I need to go lightly due to the cleanse. Ive been getting a lot of headaches...is that normal? My long term health goals are to lose weight and get in shape for my wedding day! I think this cleanse would help me to start changing my lifestyle also, my short term would be to remove all these toxins from my body. I was unable to sleep last night and did not fall asleep until 5am... :(
I woke up totally refreshed this morning, and very eager to begin Day 2! The last two blasts yesterday weren't my favorites and I was questioning whether to stay on it or not, but the dinner (gumbo) was fantastic! And when I woke up this morning 1.5 lbs lighter than yesterday, and noticeably less bloat in my belly, that's all the convincing I needed to continue! This morning's blast was great, and I'm looking forward to the other two in a few hours! (I think it was the ginger that just didn't appeal to me. I'll leave that out next time!)
I slept great last night, but had a huge headache before going to bed, after some aspirin it was fine. My goal is to loose weight for a cruise next year. Having a hard time drinking water in between, takes me forever to drink the shakes. by the time i am done with one I have to go make another. I had gastric bypass surgery 14 years ago, so its hard for me to have but so much on my stomach. Also, not to be gross, but I havent gone to the bathroom to cleanse anything out...thought I would have been going all day after all the shakes yesterday. Is that normal?
Today is my fiancés birthday, we are going to BW3 and I'll be eating Blacken chicken salad.... should I go without the chicken? I'm bringing my lemon juice to use on my salad...

See if you can add some beans in place of the chicken. One of the themes of the cleanse is to stick with plant-based ingredients and to avoid animal foods including meats, dairy, and eggs. You'll also see there is no gluten, alcohol, caffeine, or added sugars. Try as best as possible to stick to those "rules". If you can't find any other option, then the Blackened chicken might be your best bet at this particular restaurant. Good luck and wish him a Happy Birthday from the NutriBullet team!

I'm sorry you had such a rough night/morning w/ little sleep. These symptoms you noted are normal and should pass. A light sweat could help you rid of your headache so yes, kickboxing will be ok if you keep it light. You may wish to add in some extra plant-based protein (hemp seeds, nuts, seeds, or some garbanzo beans - it's amazing you can hardly taste them!) to your Blast post workout to possibly help with the low energy. Also, try some more ginger tea -this should help with the nausea. At night some chamomile or lavender tea might help you get some zzzz's. Thank you for sharing your goals with us!

Let me see if I can address some of these for you! First, the headache is normal and should pass. I'd suggest not resorting to an aspirin since we are trying to rid our body of toxins (we don't want to introduce anything else our liver has to work on breaking down and eliminating). A light sweat may help the headache go away. Possibly reduce the amount you put in your Blast - we don't want to put too much stress on your body to digest all this food - OR just stop when you feel satisfied and the bonus there - you'll have some left over if you get hungry again before the next Blast. For regularity... This comes up quite a bit and it usually happens due to a sudden increase in fiber. A few suggestions that have helped others are: 1) Drinking plenty of water in between. Maybe trying some herbal peppermint tea, Tulsi tea, green tea, or even more ginger tea can provide laxative-like properties. 2) Be sure to include some type of light physical activity - the blood flow and movement stimulates GI motility. 3) Add in some additional ground flax seeds or psyllium husk (this may or may not be a good option as it can either help push things through or potentially clog you up more). 4) Pure prune juice! 8oz 1x/day, then if that doesn't work go to 2-8oz cups one in the morning and one at night. Your body should adjust after some time. I'd suggest trying some of these and see how things go. Let me know what works for you!
This am's blast was good. Starting the tomato toddy and not liking it very well...too much beet I think...but I will slowly drink what I can to keep the hunger away before I have to start the next Blast. Short term goal: Leaving for California on 1/23 and would like to drop a few lbs. So if M-F cleanse goes well I may take the weekend off and do another cleanse of my own the following week. Long term goal: Get down to my "feel good" weight and try to maintain it with 1-2 meal replacement blasts per day. exercise: Did the Total Body Enhancement at Planet Fitness and ran 2 miles on treadmill this morning. I felt good. No lightheadedness or weakness. weightloss from day #1: 1 lb :)
Caffeine headache gone! Had the squash soup on Day 1 - it was awesome. The smell of the coconut oil and the onions cooking...yum Feeling good!!
I feel good today. Headache is mild compared to yesterday. I have to add ice to all the blasts. I hope that is okay. I am less bloated too. My only issue, like jerdman's post, is I couldn't sleep last night. I will try the tea suggestions. Good luck everyone! These forums are keeping me going. :)

If you'd like, feel free to heat up your Tomato Toddie for a more soup-like treat!

Ice is perfectly fine! I like my Blasts colder too :) So glad these forums are helping you stick to it! Let us know how else we can help keep you motivated! And what you like about the cleanse, what you don't like (in addition to the Tomato Toddie!), etc. Remember, it's all good for you and the more bitter the better.
I am technically on the 5th day of an 8 day cleanse. I started the first 3 days with the 2013 kickoff cleanse, then started the new 2014 cleanse on Monday. I was really crappy feeling until the end of my second day. I was having severe headaches from stopping sugar and caffeine intake. I just powered through it and eventually it subsided. After the start of my 3rd day, all was good and my body was feeling remarkable! It still amazes me what effect fresh fruits and veggies can have on your body! There have been several times that my body has experienced the goosebump's feeling when drinking a blast! From doing a Nutriblast cleanse once before in the summer of 2013, I have found that dividing every recipe into 2 large blasting cups helped me out a lot. I'm really not into thick drinks and most of the recipes I have made in one cup are too thick or not blended enough for me. I figured out early on that if you overfill the blasting cup with too many veggies, it does not chop/break down as well. I should also say that I am weighing the ingredients instead of measuring volume based on package label. I like the 2014 plan better because you are not as hungry in-between blasts with the midday blast scheduled. Actually, not hungry at all during the day! I hope everyone else is doing well and by tomorrow, you all should be feeling much better if you're not already!
I actually had a great sleep last night, although I was pretty hungry when I went to bed. I had the butternut squash soup at supper, and I really didn't like it as much as I thought I would, so I didn't eat very much of it. Today I've had a light headache all day, but nothing too bad. I'm also feeling a bit low on energy. Blasts were great today, but the Tomato Toddie took some work to get down, lol. But I kept thinking "it's scrubbing me clean" as I was drinking it. I'm making sure I'm drinking at least 2 liters of water (usually ends up being a bit more) every day, and that helps with the hunger. Now I'm about to try the tomato soup which I think I will like much better! My goal is to get rid of any built up toxins and start a healthier habit, after getting into the "indulge when I feel like it" habit over the holidays. I was thinking of incorporating a "cleansing day" every so often after the cleanse is over. Do you think that's a good idea? Maybe once a month? Or weekly? Also, could you tell us what the benefits are of the ginger/lemon drink vs. the apple cider vinegar/lemon drink? Should we vary them or pick the one we like better? I'm excited to see what the rest of the cleanse will bring, it's so telling the symptoms we get when we exclude all that bad stuff, right?
I successfully completed day 2 and enjoyed the smoothies more than those in day 1. I loved the butternut squash soup! It's the first time trying soup in the nutribullet. I first bought the nutribullet to combat weight and associated medical issues. I've been having one for breakfast since early fall and also eating fairly clean meals through the rest of the day. I don't feel so different after these first 2 days but I wonder if my body is somewhat adjusted to it already. Nevertheless I think it's a great kick start to the new year and I'm learning more about the healing nature of fruits and veggies that I haven't tried in smoothies before. I find that it takes me a long time to drink each smoothie, and have not been drinking water in between. Is it better to reduce the number of smoothies over day, the amount per smoothie, or to just keep plugging along all day? I'll concentrate on more water tomorrow!
I liked the kale and cabbage salad! I am drinking the punch blast now I know it's late I was busy all day! I am feeling good, just got back from the gym for the first time in 3 months.. Still having headaches.. At BW3 I ate a salad with grilled chicken (turned out it had medium sauce on it) with no croutons and no dressing.. I used lemon juiced on it.. everyone looked at me like I was nuts but I was trying to be healthy! I'll drink ginger tea or the tea I bough from the store called sleep...so hopefully it'll help me to sleep better tonight. I also realized that Im wide awake until midnight and still feel so tired in the morning.. what should I do?
my fridge is packed with fruits and veggies!!! It rarely happens! neat!
Just got on a scale ... I gained one pound since this morning..why is that? Im sorta freaking out, I cannot gain weight, I need to lose 15 pounds...now 16 pounds.
Day two for me has been a little more difficult. I enjoyed the blasts today, except for the tomato toddie, but I pushed through. I had the tomato soup for dinner. It was pretty good for the first few bites and then the taste became too overwhelming. I've been drinking plenty of water and that has helped with the hunger. I've done water aerobics, but today was harder because I'm so low on energy. I look forward to turning things around and getting more energy. My goal is to better my health this year and lose weight. I had quite a few health issues last year and I want to do better for myself. I would also like to know the difference between using the vinegar vs the ginger. What are the benefits of each and should we alternate?
Day 2 and still going strong! Once again unfortunately I'm at home with a bad cold and cough. Keeps me close to my Nutriblast though. :) The smoothies today were all good! And I'm still loving the butternut squash soup. I know others have mentioned feelings of fatigue and sleeplessness and headaches. I do seem to have those as well but I think they are more from the cold than from the cleanse. I want to congratulate everyone who has held strong so far. The first couple of days of a cleanse can be the toughest. Keep with it everyone!
I love the blasts, except the Tomato Toddie. I could not get that one down. I love V8 juice, so I thought I would like it, but no. I love Blasting so much. What a wonderful change in my life. More energy and feeling great. Thank you for the wonderful recipes.
Day 2 - Surprised to see that people are having trouble sleeping. I must say I had the best sleep last night then I have had in a long time. Not feeling hungry and really getting the knack of prepping for the next Blast ahead of time to stay on track. It was a good day and I am feeling great. Tomorrow will totally be a challenge as it is my birthday and my husband wanted to take me out or cook me something special...I told him I am sticking with this so he asked if he could put a candle in my planned Kale/Cabbage Salad. This will be my toughest day to resist temptation but I am so pleased with my progress that I am determined to Blast Away!!!
Starting Day 3 ! Another restful nights sleep...Let's do this! Can't wait to try this mornings Blast! Love having a forum where I feel like part of a team working together. Thank you for all who share...it really helps to here other people's experiences.
You should only weigh yourself once a day and always at the same time. Try weighing yourself in the morning right when you wake up before you've eaten or drunk anything. And don't worry about small fluctuations, it's normal. Good luck!

I think it's a good idea to do a thorough cleanse like this every 6 months depending on how "bad" your diet is. However, doing a "clean day" once a week or choosing a weened out of each month to focus on detoxing is an excellent idea! The ginger lemon hot tea in the morning helps stimulate the digestive system and bowels, helps alkalize the body, acts as a diuretic, as well as boosts the immune system! Apple cider vinegar has also been shown to improve digestion, alkalize the body, stimulate the immune system and possibly help with blood sugar balance. You can choose whichever one you like best, but if you have no preference, then alternating between the two is suggested since variety is the spice of life!!

Listen to your hunger/fullness cues - stop if you are too full - maybe stick it in the fridge (sealed tightly) and if you get hungry before the next Blast, then you have some left over to snack on. You ideally want some time in between each Blast, at which point, it's ideal to sip on some water!! If the Blasts are too thick, another option is to try reducing the amount of ingredients slightly.

We naturally retain water as the day goes on - almost everyone will be at least one pound heavier in the evening...you've also consumed some food that is still in your digestive tract. Have no worries. I'd suggest not weighing yourself daily - maybe once a week to see if you're on track :) Also, it may have been water retention from eating out - restaurant foods (yes, even that chicken salad) contains way more sodium than a home cooked meal. Don't freak out - stress actually inhibits weight loss! Stick to it.

Congratulations, Colleen! You're our Cleanse Day 2 winner! You just won a Dessert Bullet! Check your private messages for your next steps. Check back everyday to see if you've won. And for everyone participating - good luck with the second half of our 5 Day Cleanse!
Day 3 Blasts have been my favorite so far. I am thinking the Blasts with Cherries and/or Pineapple really seem to be my favorites. I also prefer the Blasts with Almond milk a bit more over ones with water. Looking forward to having the Kale/Cabbage Salad again tomorrow as I really enjoyed it. Will not stand on the scale until after this first 5 days but honestly .. it doesn't matter... because I am feeling so much better! I am not feeling hungry or tired during the day. Keeping track of which Blasts I like most so that I can be sure to have them again. Thought today would be more difficult than it was..Thank You NutriBullet for your support system.
