Do I just grind the ginger for the ginger tea? Or do I blend the ginger with cold water and blend then warm it up?

I place pieces of ginger in the pot with the tea bags and just let it simmer

All you need to do is boil some water, pour it in a mug, then drop a chunk or grate some fresh ginger in it and drizzle a little bit of lemon on top. It makes a nice refreshing, hot tea to help soothe the digestive system.
I minced my ginger, put it in a coffee cup just barely covered with water and set it next to my coffee pot last night. Put the coffee pot on timer with water, this morning I poured it right in the cup and added a squeeze of lemon. No straining needed, the ginger stayed at the bottom of the cup. It was good.
I keep my ginger and lemon in the freezer then I grate them into my cup and pour boiling water over them.
