I have a question about these wonderful berries: some recipes specify SOAKED gojis, others do not. What is best for the machine? For a healthful blast? And how long do you soak?

I've never soaked my gojis -- I think the recipes that call for soaking are ones that goji is the primary ingredient. Or, I could be wrong. But, in my experience, nothing wrong with adding goji's as a superfood at the top of a fruity smoothie. I use them -- fairly rarely -- in smoothies which have melons and/or berries in them. Goji's heighten the flavor of sweet stuff, in my opinion.
You can choose to soak or just toss them in as is :)
Where do you buy goji berries? Are you buying them fresh or dried? I have a publix, Walmart, Winn Dixie, and fresh market near me.

Dried goji berries can be found in certain health food stores like Whole Foods. You can also find them online thru us and other online sources: http://www.nutriliving.com/store/product/organic-goji-berries-7-oz
