Here's one I won't do again: greens, half a naval orange, three strawberries, hemp and water. Nothing *wrong* with that, but the flavors all just seemed to cancel each other out. If only I had added a beet or some of my fav--pineapple! Next time, right?

Wow, you would think Orange and Strawberry would go good together. Quite often I make a "blah" Blast, but that's usually because I add way too many different things. And they most certainly do cancel each other out.
I made my first blast this morning and ended up tipping it out.....it was way too thick and gross! It was one out of the NutriBullet book. It has spinach, cacao powder, avocado, blueberries and water.....absolutely disgusting :( I hope I can find one that I can enjoy otherwise it's a waste of money purchasing the NutriBullet.

Try using ingredients you like! No need to follow a recipe. Once you get into the groove of Blasting you'll see it was well worth the money. :)
I have a stupid question and this post reminded me of it :) When you use oranges in a blast, do you use the rind? I was wondering about all citrus fruits really - lemons, oranges, limes etc. Do you use the rind? Or does that make a blast taste funny? I'm kind of a newbie! Hope this isn't a really dumb question!

Oranges would definitely need to be peeled - ever chewed on an orange rind?? Gaaak, lol. :) This "prep chart" tells you what you need to do to various foods - peel, pit, cook, whatever: http://nutribulletblog.com/faq/peelingde-seeding/ Have fun!

The rind does have a lot of health properties but it can give the Blast a more bitter taste. There are a couple recipes that call for the rind and I would only use a small amount, it is a flavor profile you may have to build your way up to.
I am mixing spinach, kale, pear, extra virgin olive oil, chi seeds, honey, ice cubes and water to the max line in my bullet every morning. It is really tasty, give me lots of energy and help alleviate pain in my thigh and legs without taking a lot of pain pills. The Nutribullet is Great and I am finally beginning to lose weight!!!
