Recipes to build up my immune system

Up till now I have been using my Nutribullet to make post-workout smoothies that I can add my Protein Powder too and have been very happy with the different recipes and flavours I've been trying. But now I want to try to use my Nutribullet for a new purpose. Last year I volunteered for 'Crisis at Christmas' at one of their shelters they set up for homeless people at Christmas time. Because it was my first time I only volunteered for 3 shifts , but due to the fact that you are in very close proximity with maybe 200 homeless people I ended up catching some sort of Flu Bug afterwards. This year I am signing up for the full 8 nightshifts over the Christmas period and I want to try to avoid catching the 'Crisis Lurgy' again , so I am looking for tasty recipes that I can start to make now and hopefully build up my immune system in readiness for my Crisis volunteering at Christmas. Any recipes you have or suggestions of things I can add to recipes that will help build up my immune system would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
Hi K31th, great question. These foods boost the immune system greatly. I would be using lots of leafy greens like spinach, kale, swiss chard, broccoli, spirulina, raw cocoa, raw honey, raw apple cider vinegar, ceylon cinnamon, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, raw goat yogurt or coconut yogurt for probiotics, Shiitake, maitake, and reishi mushrooms, sweet potatoes, garlic, onions, apples, goji berries, strawberries and black tea, also make you get lots of omega 3's from salmon, sardines, chia or flax seeds and walnuts. Sleep is very important, at least 7 hours of sound sleep per day. Plenty of water Stress reduction is super important, Stress lowers our immune function. Sugary foods and processed foods also lower our immune function greatly. Let us know how it goes! Healthy wishes Wally Bishop C.N.C.
