Two month old blade leaks oil.

My 2 month old Nutribullet started making a strange noise this morning and when I finished the blast, I looked at the base of the extractor blade and it was leaking black oil. I then put a cup with cold water on the blade and ran it for about 10 seconds, and I could see black particles in the water, so the blade is leaking out of both ends.

Being concerned about this, I called customer service and spoke to a very nice gentleman, and explained my concern. In the conversation I told him that while I don't put ice in my blasts, I do use frozen fruit all the time, like bananas, peaches, strawberries, etc. He asked me if I put the frozen fruit like frozen whole strawberries at the top of the cup, where it would be the closest to the blade, and I told him that is what I always do. He said it would be much better to put a buffer between this very hard fruit and the blade, when filling the cup, so that the strain on the blade wouldn't be as hard when first starting the blade up. Since I am a retired engineer, this makes a great deal of sense to me. Anyway, they are shipping me a new blade, and in the mean time I can use the spare one I bought when I got my Nutribullet, so I can keep on blasting.
That is something. How many blades have you gone through by now? I am still on #1 6 months into my nutriblasting journey, clean as can be and shiny new. I am tempted to buy a spare one just because of what i read on here!

This is my first blade, but I was totally surprised that it went so quickly. I have had it for two months at twice a day, so that is at the most around 60-70 blasts. I bought a spare blade right after I got my Nutribullet after reading so many stories of blade problems, so I will use my spare one until they ship me the new one. Hopefully it will last alot longer. If not, I am looking at an Omniblender. Friend has one and loves it. By the way, the customer service rep I spoke with didn't seem at all surprised at the short life.
My blade leaks brown gunk also and is so LOUD! I have only had 3 months. Truly the sound is deafening ---- I feel it should be replaced gratis.

They have a 1 year warranty, so you should get it replaced under warranty. My advice is to buy a spare blade from their website for $10, that way, when it goes bad again, you will have something to use while your replacement is shipped to you.

It would best to contact costumer service for this: 1-855-346-8874
I had the same problem with mine leaking oil after just 9 months of use. Sadly, I cannot find my receipt so I had to purchase a new one. Apparently, this is is a common issue.
I don't think you need the receipt, just the number under the base of your nutribullet... did they ask you for a receipt??
Day #4, the gasket came loose, and I could not get it back in. I ordered a spare so that I can always have two. Customer Service shipped me a new one. All is good, and I love my Blasts very much. However, I am quite concerned at so many issues with leaking, etc. I had a Ninja before that lasted me three years. I am well aware that things like this can happen with any product, but it sure does seem to be excessive with the NutriBullet. If this one does not last me at least one year, I will go back to the Ninja. I love it, but these issues need to be corrected with better parts or construction or something.
I want to know from NutriBullet if this problem has been addressed! I just bought my unit and if I don't get a good answer I will take it back and get my money back! I will also see to it that the Navy Exchange System no longer sells NutriBullet if I see that mine starts to leak as so many have complained about on this site!
I've had my Nutribullet for a little over a year. I'm getting ready to order my third replacement blade.
I had my Ninja for 4 months, I'm on my second blade and I'm waiting for a new base because it has started to leak oil. I have issues with the top leaking while I'm blasting as well. The top is always screwed on tight and I never put too much in. It just makes this horrible noise. Hopefully after I get my new base, everything will be corrected..
First off everyone, the leaking black fluid is not oil it's rust from the bearings inside of the base. It comes from not properly drying your blade base after washing or rinsing. To resolve the problem I purchased some graphite spray and sprayed a healthy amount around the ring and let it sit for 24 hours. Then I ran the Neutra bullet with water only. The black fluid continued to come out only because the rust was being released. However, the noise eventually decreased and so did the dark fluid. Remember to use a paper towel to dry The bearings area after each cleaning and that should be enough
IMPORTANT NOTE:, Do not use WD-40 or other oil based lubricant. It will not help and it may just make the problem worse. Be sure to use a graphite spray.
I have had the same issue lately. The last time I used it I could taste the grease or lubricant, so I know it is leaking inside the cup as well. Plus, I always put frizen berrys into the cup first, and stack kale on top where the blades make contact. So buffering is not the issue in my case
