Unit making noises, not stopping properly

I just bought my NutriBullet in August and use it daily.  For the past few days, it makes a loud noise when I first push down on the cup to start blending.  Then, when I try to stop it, it makes a loud noise again and the motor keeps turning for several seconds after the cup has been disengaged. I'm concerned since I've only had it for 6 weeks.

Hi, I purchased myHi, I purchased my Nutribullet on June 28, 2013 and it stopped working on October 25(4 months). I called Customer Service and they told me to send proof of purchase; I got the impression that they would be replacing it. After sending in the POP I waited for a couple of days to call. I just called (Nov. 15) and the service rep. started going over some trouble shooting with me. I put the rubbing alcohol with a Q tip around the activators as she said and waited over ten minutes as I was told. I again tried pressing down on the activators with the cup (not plugged in) and the plastic activators are still not budging. What should I do next? It's been three weeks now without my machine. I miss my Nutribullet. I had to go back to my trusty blender of 40 years.
After having the Nutribullet for nearly a year and using it after 2 months - took a break with it because it was stretching my budget and in the process of moving, the engine started to get noiser and screeching I had to stop. Anyone else have the same issue?
You probably have a bad blade, get a new blade.
