Hi my name is Kyle I just got my nuribullet tonight and tried my first blast concocting my own recipe based off of some gruits aI like and other stuff that I have been reading about and I must say my first experience wasn't so great. first off I was surprised how small the tall cup is and how relatively little fits in there I've been reading these recipes with all of these items in them and am wondering how it all fits in there. I put in a stem of Kale, a peeled orange, a cut up carrot, a couple of small red grapes, a tbsp of Chia seeds a tbsp of Cacao nibs and filtered mineral water up to the max line. the ingrediants themselves were slightly over the max line but not by much. the texture was very liquidy which is ok but either the seeds or the nibs stood out very much making it not so fun but worst of all was the taste it was neither sweet like I thought it would be it was just not right I couldn't taste the grapes at all they just disapeard and the kale never got added to the mix because it got stuck at the top of the cup and never came down. Are Carrots and Oranges just not a good mix taste wise? Please help me with ideas on how to enhance my experience

Thanks,

Kyle

Hi, Kyle--A good tip is to stop your blast about ten seconds in and shake the cup when it seems stuff is "sticking" at the top. Then just proceed blasting for another ten seconds or so. As to the flavor, you could drizzle in a bit of honey in the short term while your tastes are adjusting. And experiment with different fruits--I find that pineapple makes a HUGE difference in carrying fruit flavor through the whole. But don't be surprised when you discover that you are really grooving on the green taste--it will come sooner than you may think.
I like to make sure I have protein with my shake so I add a scoop of vanilla protein powder, I find neutralizes all flavors and tastes like a yummy milk shake and the protein helps keep you satisfied longer. also try using sugarless almond milk or coconut milk instead of water.

Hey Kyle, have you checked out our recipes section? There are great ideas and combos that taste great! As a new Blaster it is important to try different combos until you find something you like, find some recipes that have ingredients you like and try those first. Don't worry if some ingredients don't fit, you can always adjust and modify per your preference. If the Blasts is too watery try using coconut water, that will give it a little extra sweetness or unsweetened almond milk can help it to taste a little more creamy. Adding cinnamon or mint also give the Blast another layer of flavor. If you are finding your ingredients get stuck to the top of you Blast, take it off the base, give it a shake and put it back on and blend.
