Many recipes call for yogurt.  What can be used as a substitute?

If you are just allergic to dairy-based yogurt then you can use a coconut milk, almond milk or organic soymilk yogurt instead. You may also use a non-dairy milk alternative for creaminess. Note that the amount of protein will be lower with the almond and coconut, but will be similar using soy. If you are looking for a creamy texture then try banana, frozen mango, avocado, rolled oats, chia seeds, or a plant-based protein powder.
