Gout is managed through medication and lifestyle. Gout is a complex case of arthritis therefore it is always important to communicate with a doctor before you start anything new. Besides your medication that can prevent attacks, you can decrease the number of attacks with foods that decrease the chance of inflammation such as fruits and vegetables. Be mind of the amount of meat and poultry products that you consume because they often contain high amounts of purine. Be sure to drink plenty of water, fruits, and vegetables.
