Why does NutriBullet recommend no more than one cup of coffee per day?
II noticed Nutribullet documentation recommends no more than one cup per day. Just wondering why in the context of many articles in the popular press ( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/17/coffee-health-benefits_n_4102133.html ) that claim health benefits.
Official Answer
Stevea that's a great question. Coffee can have many health benefits but when consumed in moderation. The caffeine in coffee stimulates the flight or fight hormonal reflex causing a release of adrenaline and cortisol. One cup of coffee or at most two is fine however more than that releases to much of these hormones and begins over time an addictive dependence of the stimulus of the caffeine. The body cuts back making normal energy because it is running on hormonal energy. Over time you can overwork the adrenal glands causing excessive fatigue. Caffeine is also a diuretic make your body loose important water. Coffee is not good for diabetics it will make it worse. I use raw cocao for a nice hot chocolate two or three times a day and love it in place of coffee. I hope this helps. Healthy wishes Wally Bishop C.N.C.
