This is directly from the Natural Standards Database (a compilation of research done on various foods and supplements): Adults (age = 18) Oral: Diabetes: Due to the wide variations in preparation techniques of bitter melon, the proper dosing cannot be determined at the present time. In the available studies, bitter melon has sometimes been administered as a fruit juice in doses of 50mL (2) or 100mL (3). Juice formulations have been reported to have more potent effects on blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) than the powder of the sun-dried fruit (34). Five grams of dried bitter melon fruit powder has also been used three times a day for three weeks (34). However, safety and efficacy have not been established for any specific dose of bitter melon
