What can you recommend for Barrett's disease?

I have Barrett's disease and I don't feel my dr is much help. He tells me to not eat mint, tomatoes and caffeine. He also tells me to lose weight. To be fair, if I knew how to looe weight, I would not be fat. I was wondering if there is anything specific I should do for this.
