Why am I experiencing constipation?

I have been using my nutribullet for two weeks now and I've been experiencing some constaption. Have you heard of this with anyone else? I've been using very basic recipes i.e. spinach, kale, frozen fruits, Barry's, flax seed, almonds, walnuts, water and maybe some almond milk unsweetened. In different mixes. Please let me know. Also is there something I can add to the mix that will help the bowels move?

Increase your fluid intake throughout the day. When you increase fiber intake (could be a big increase with the NB) without increase fluid intake it will make your stools more dense and can cause constipation.

Increase your soluble fiber. Why is soluble fiber so special? Because unlike insoluble fiber, it soothes and regulates the digestive tract, stabilizes the intestinal contractions and normalizes bowel function from either extreme. Soluble fiber prevents and relieves BOTH diarrhea and constipation.

Foods High in Soluble Fiber
• Apple (peeled) also apple sauce
• Cooked Lentils
• Oats/oatmeal/oat bran (oat bran is higher in insoluble fiber than oatmeal or oats)
• Banana
• Okra
• Peas
• Sweet potatoes
• Soybeans
• Broccoli (contains half soluble fiber and half insoluble fiber)
• Carrots
• Medium Pear (with the skin)
• Strawberries
• Barley
• Chick Peas (garbanzo beans)
• Navy beans
• Pinto beans
• Lima Beans
• Dried Peas
• Apricots
• Dates
• Prunes
• Flax Seed
• Beets
• Cranberries
• Red Currants
• Gooseberries
• Peaches
• Pears
• Sour plums
• Prunes
• Quinces
• Rye
• Sesame seeds

Do not take a laxative if increasing your dietary soluble fiber.

I hope this helps

healthy wishes

You are not the only one who has had this problem. I think there is another thread about constipation. I was having problems before I started using my NB a couple weeks ago and thought all the leafy greens would help but I was WRONG! My BM got so hard I got hemorrhoids! I started throwing in a couple prunes and drinking more water. This does seem to be common among other users though. Good Luck
