Can maca powder shrink my uterine fibroid?

I have had my nutribullet for 2 months and absolutely love my morning drink. My question is about the Maca powder I have been adding to my drink for the last four weeks. A fibroid has been residing in my uterus for years and I don't want to take medication or have surgery. Chinese herbs, meditation and acupuncture have not budged it. My periods last about seven days with two of those being heavy. This past period lasted eight days, more heavy days than light, my face broke out, and ones of those heavy days was so painful I thought my uterus was going to pop it was so swollen. I place one tsp in my drink each morning. Not sure if I need to add more or less Maca powder each day.I am hoping that this will shrink the fibroid. What do you think?  I appreciate your help:)

Kendel, welcome to the NutriBullet family. Certainly you have a medical condition and need to discuss any changes or new protocols you may wish to use with them. That being said, It has been known for many years that a relationship between Thyroid function and sexual hormones and fibroids is very close. Iodine is critical for the balance of the thyroid and the making of these hormones. When hormones get out of balance many things can happen and one of those is the making of fibroids is female reproductive tissues. Iodine has in many cases reduced the size of fibroids and even reversed the condition. So in your cases I think its worth talking to your doctor about taking Iodine. These links will give you a lot more info about iodine and fibroids. http://war-on-fibroids.blogspot.com/2013/03/iodine-thyroid-and-fibroids.html This is a link to a discussion group about iodine and fibroids that I think you may find interesting. http://curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1619160 http://drsircus.com/medicine/cancer/iodine-cancer-and-fibrocystic-disease Please let us know how you are doing.
