What can I add to my morning blasts to help with acid reflux?

Not been on for a while...I've been suffering since my Dr put me on Lipitor/Atorvastatin for Cholesterol and Omeprazole for Acid Reflux.  Terrible bone aches and pains, muscle aches, headaches, not sleeping, lethargic, the list goes on and on.  Then I found a Forum with lots of other people with symptoms similar to mine and decided the side effects outweigh the benefits, so took matters into my own hands after having excrutiating pain inside my spine, followed by x-rays. I spoke to my Dr this morning and explained that I had taken myself off the medication and the reasoning behind doing so...the main benefit so far is that I feel 100 times better, the above symptoms have all but gone and I've even lost a little weight, sleeping better and far happier.  I thought she was going to tell me off, but instead thought it was a good idea as I'm feeling better and to check my cholesterol levels in a few months time...phew! The only thing I have now is a little Acid Reflux from time to time.  I do have a glass of water with dessert spoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey, which helps, but is there anything else I can do with my morning blasts.

Slippery elm and fenugreek have been used as herbal remedies for digestive disorders including acid reflux. These may be something you want to look into. Also, have you seen this article here for suggestions: http://www.nutriliving.com/blog/top-5-foods-gerd-relief Avoid turmeric as this may aggravate symptoms of GERD

Mix 3 to 4 Tablespoons of the Purest Aloe Vera Juice (You don't have to use the thick Aloe Vera Gel), with 1/4 Cup of (pure) Apple Juice. Mix & drink this 1/2 hour Before you eat breakfast. Don't eat or drink anything for the half hour so that the combination you drank, can neutralize the Ph of your stomach (Acid to Alkaline). If you have Ulcers, Reflux or Heartburn, follow this protocol for at least seven (7) days. Too many people love how effective this is & how quickly they feel better, so they never stop. It's better for your body, if you stop drinking this mixture for three (3) to five (5) days every other week. By doing so, your body has a chance to begin to re-set or re-boot it's self, as you heal. The expectation of the discomfort starts to dissipate, creating a less stressful environment in your own body. Good for you for weighing the benefits against the damaging effects of the prescription medication. You picked a good doctor for yourself too. They listened to your reasons for your decision & worked with you, as an equal, not like you're a kid making bad decisions. Too many people have given doctors too much power, which a lot of doctors believe they deserve. As adults, we need to be more responsible knowing our B.P., our Pulse Rate (at rest), our Blood Type & any other information regarding our current state of health. Most of us aren't taking enough responsibility for our own health. Which is exactly why I really like this site, it's full of people who are being proactive about their own health & who have good information, that they're happy to share.
Thank you both for your replies, I will certainly try the recommendations
