Can I substitute Chinese kale (kai lan) for regular kale?

We don't often find Kale where we live, but do find (and eat) Kai Lan (Chinese kale) sautéed with garlic. Can we interchange the curly leaf Kale w Kai-lan or better to eat kai-lan cooked?

Dietitian's Answer

I'm actually not personally familiar with Kai-lan so I cannot provide any insight. However, it looks like it's in the same family as broccoli and kale which can both be eaten raw so I'm assuming it's fine...Maybe some others have tried it and know more?
