Are frozen "green cubes" as good as fresh greens?

Since greens, spinach, and spring mix don't stay fresh for very long I have started making green cubes. I take a green of choice (or mix and match) and add about 1 1/2 tablespoon of water and puree it in the nutribullet. I can usually get the whole bag in the nutribullet without even going over the max fill line. I pop the mix into ice cube trays, freeze, put them into freezer bags. I only use maybe two cubes for a blast I think its equivalent to a handfull or so. I'm just not sure if its as good as fresh or not. Any words of advice?

What a great idea. Freezing actually helps preserve nutrients in the greens, so this is an amazing idea! Thanks for sharing!

I've considered this as well -- how does it taste? Any different from using the greens fresh? I love the idea of green cubes & it has the added benefit of chilling the smoothie When I've had too many greens to use -- usually kale, collard or swiss chard -- I prep them by washing thoroughly, chopping roughly and then freezing them in big freezer bags -- trying to squeeze out as much air as possible. Then, when I'm out of fresh greens, I grab a handful of frozen to toss in. Freezing kale this way makes me more inclined to use it...
You can also just put the spinach, kale, whatever in a freezer bag, squish out the air and freeze that way, I do it all of the time & just grab handfuls out & put in the nb with my liquid..maybe a cup, blast away and then I add the frozen fruits that I have ready. That way my blast is nice & thick & cold! You can freeze most everything that way, even ginger to just use...peel, cut in small cubes and put in a bag. Save a lot of time.
That is a great idea! I've never thought of that. I've had much of my spinach spoil because I don't eat them often.
