Can I freeze my beets?

I had a big beet and I cooked it but it was not completely frozen, but I cut it into slices and froze it.  Is that a not bad thing to do? Can watermelon, honeydew and cantalope be frozen. I prefer to freeze most of my fruits and vegetables so that they  don't get old and wasted.

Absolutely! Freezing fruits and vegetables is a great way to prevent food waste and keep foods that are out of season around for a longer time. You can freeze most fruits and vegetables, including the ones you listed.

I steam my beets, freeze pieces. Easier to use if pieces are frozen separately, then bagged, otherwise the warm pieces will freeze together.
I cook and freeze beets for the winter and have found they taste fine, with little change in texture. I just cook, slice, and then put into plastic freezer bags. Chopped celery and carrots also freeze well.
