Dietitian's Answer

Oxalic acid is a natural product found in spinach and some other plant foods. I wouldn't avoid spinach or other leafy greens because of the oxalic acid since they do have a lot to offer nutritionally, however if you are prone to calcium-oxalate kidney stones then it may be wise to choose greens lower in oxalic acid or cook them.
