In general those with kidney issues are told to limit fluids, potassium, phosphorus, and sodium. In addition, protein needs to be monitored and it is important to make sure you are getting enough calories. Dr. should have given some guidelines and I would highly recommend speaking with an RD in your area that is specialized in nutritional therapy for kidney disease.
