What are good foods for iron deficiency and blood circulation?

I recently noticed I have an iron deficiency. I was not getting enough green leafy vegetables. This also began a craving for eating ice. I began to use my nutra bullet with spinach, broccoli, red chard, strawberries, blueberries.

Dietitian's Answer

Combining foods rich in iron like pumpkin seeds, spinach, breakfast cereals enriched with iron, tofu, cooked beans, wheat germ, broccoli and apricots with foods high in vitamin C like grapefruits, kiwi, oranges, strawberries, lemons, papaya and brussels sprouts, can actually increase absorption of iron in the body. Including lean meats in your diet like fish, chicken and organic grass-fed beef, can also help increase iron stores.
For poor circulation, vegetables high in natural nitrates such as beets, basil, Swiss chard, beet greens, and arugula have been shown helpful. Also, potassium-rich foods like baked sweet potato, lentils, Swiss chard, avocado, and banana may help.
