Will you increase nutrient value by steaming veggies?

Certain vegetables contain more nutrients when cooked and others have heat sensitive vitamins that lose certain nutrients when cooked. Vitamin C is the most fragile and is mostly lost when heated. Carrots and tomatoes are two that have higher lycopene levels when cooked. Therefore it's best to eat some raw and some cooked for a well-rounded diet.
