Can I just throw in what I have on hand and/or like?

I know that specific food combinations are best for specific issues - but isn't it OK to just throw in what I like, or what I have on hand? Is there anything to watch out for, i.e. too much of a particular nutrient?

Absolutely! These recipes are simply suggestions. Feel free to have fun and get creative. The only thing I'd keep in mind is to balance the fruit and veggies and boosts - you don't want to include only fruits as the sugar content may get too high.
