What can I use instead of a banana?

Dietitian's Answer

Bananas contain vitamin B6 and vit C and are a good source of potassium and fiber. Some good substitutions could be cooked sweet potato, sunflower seeds, avocado (good potassium and lends a thick consistency like banana), and then maybe toss in some mango to give it a touch of sweetness.

Some great alternatives could be pear, mango, chia seeds, papaya, nut butters, fresh dates and unsweetened applesauce. Cooked sweet potato and sunflower seeds also offer up some of the same nutrients.
