There are several different symptoms that are associated with IBS. It can present itself as gas, bloating, diarrhea or constipation and the recipe recommendations will change. If you are having diarrhea I would recommend trying this blast: 1 frozen banana, 1/4 cup of raw oats, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, 1 cup of spinach, 1 tsp of flax seed, 1 pinch of cinnamon, coconut water to max line. If you are constipated I would recommend 1.5 cups of mix greens, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, 1 drop of peppermint extract, 1/2 cup of blueberries, 1/2 cup of mango, coconut water to max line. If you experience gas and bloating with your Blasts I would use low fiber foods like canned fruits (in their own juices), cooked fruits, grapes, grapefruits, and steamed vegetables until you are able to comfortably tolerate the Blast without gas and bloating. Use unsweetened almond milk or water as your liquid base.
Thank you for addressing both symptoms which I have experienced in the past. About 5 years ago I my symptom was mostly diarrhea with gas and bloating. Because I was working as a dental assistant at the time, I sought the advice of my physician. I told her how I had always dealt with gas, bloating and constipation most of my life. She ordered tests to rule out other things. She prescribed Nortryptine, which allows the patient to take 10 mg of it for one week, then add in increments until the symptoms are better. Presently, I do well at 20 mg. I am looking forward to slowly introducing more veggies and fruits to my diet. I took the health assessment test and learned that I could use a daily serving of each food color. The Recipes that were suggested were: All Vegged Out, Anti-Aging Coconut Blast, Cider Cup, Glowing Skin Blast, Go, Go, Goji Blast, Raspberry Almond Blast, and Sipping Pretty NutriBlast.
