My husband had quadruple bypass surgery last year, what are some foods to improve his iron levels?

taking iron supplements prescribed by his dr. Is there anything he can eat or drink that will help his situation?

Iron can be found in various leafy greens, and dairy foods and of course meat products. You can include a variety of foods like pumpkin seeds, spinach, breakfast cereals enriched with iron, tofu, cooked beans, wheat germ, broccoli and apricots. By combining it with foods that are high in vitamin C like grapefruits, kiwi, oranges, strawberries, lemons, papaya and brussels sprouts, can actually increase absorption of iron in the body. Including lean meats in your diet like fish, chicken and organic grass-fed beef, can also help increase iron stores.
