My name is Pat and I'm 46 years old. My story begins like most people who visit their doctor and see/hear things they don't like. Mine began on March 28, 2013. I had an appointment to get a check up to renew my blood pressure medication.
Prior to going to my appointment, I had noticed that it was harder and harder to button my pants. I was running out of notches on my belts, so when I was weighed, I was ready for a larger number than normal. I didn't expect to see the number that came up. I weighed in at 242 pounds. I was scared seeing that number.
While waiting to see the doctor, I decided I had to make a change. I took a picture of myself that very second. I discussed some items with the doctor concerning my health. He scheduled blood work for the next morning and in a week's time, we had results. ALL of the bad stuff that could be bad was elevated. Everything from high cholesterol, to being razor-sharp close to being diabetic showed up on the report.
While waiting those few days for the results, I began searching the web for ways to get healthier. I had seen the infomercials concerning juicing/blending and kept flip-flopping between which product would be best to buy. My wife finally got fed up and said, Just buy one already! So, I bought the NutriBullet because I felt it offered the best of what I needed. I didn't need a full-blown blender or a juicer that expels the pulp. I needed something that would pulverize everything and maintain the healthy nutrients that my body craved, but which I had neglected to give it.
The next three weeks proved to be challenging. Changing your mindset is extremely hard and changing a lifestyle is just as hard. Over 20 years of putting the wrong stuff in my body was not going to be easily changed. But change did occur. I was eating the proper calories, feeling re-engerized and getting healthy. I began with a simple green smoothie for breakfast consisting of leafy greens, flaxseeds, fruits, honey, and green tea. Not only was it nutritious, it was tasty.
I've been able to drop over 20 pounds in three weeks. I don't feel hungry. I eat when I have to while keeping my calorie intake in check. I have the energy to exercise which I now do every day. Without being able to lose some weight, I would never be able to continue my new lifestyle, exercise routine and mindset.
The picture I took on April 18th, 2013 showed the improvement I had made. I can tell you that I began to weep when I saw the change. Tears flowed down my face because of the extreme joy of my accomplishments, but, more importantly, because of the years I was adding to my life.
I would tell anyone that the NutriBullet was an integral part of my losing weight. I'm not an infomercial. I'm an actual user and my results show it. I would also venture to say that my results would be typical in others who change their mindset and lifestyle in order to get healthy. It's not a quick fix, it's a lifelong change. Don't think it will be easy. There is so much temptation out there with fast foods, sugary foods, fried foods, and so forth. With the NutriBullet, I have found an ally in the fight against being sick.
As a byproduct of my success, something occurred in my workplace. My colleagues began noticing my weight loss and a great thing happened. Others began using the NutriBullet and now we're all getting healthy. We're dropping weight and feeling great. We aren't a group of 20-somethings; we're in our 40's and 50's. Just goes to show that if you're committed and have the right tools, you can change your life for the better, no matter what age.
