Signs and Symptoms
Menopause is a natural reproductive progression that marks the end of a woman’s fertile years, usually occurring around the ages of 45-55. Menopause occurs when the ovaries stop producing hormones, putting an end to the menstrual cycle.
Although it’s a normal part of aging for every woman, some women can experience menopause several years earlier than others, a condition known as perimenopause.
Treatment options include physical activity, dietary additions that mimic the effects of the body’s missing estrogen, and hormone therapy in extreme cases.
